Honoring Haitian Mothers

May 12th is Mother’s Day, a day to honor mothers in our families and communities.

Mothers in Haiti are farmers, teachers, nurses, grandmothers, and more. They exemplify the resilience, strength, and love that lay the groundwork for raising a healthy and skilled generation.

Meds & Food for Kids sees the dedication of Haitian mothers each day. We see them travel for hours by foot for their children to receive malnutrition treatment; work long days in the sun to feed their families; and send their children to school to learn. Like MFK, these mothers transform futures.

In partnership with prenatal clinics, MFK distributes Plumpy’Doz, our supplemental food that supports the nutritional needs of pregnant and nursing mothers and their newborns. To date, more than 73,000 Haitian mothers and infants have participated in MFK’s prenatal supplementation program.
